Any motor up to 7 cells (NICD/NIMH)or 2 Li-PoLy. Any model with no more than three control functions (one must be throttle or on/off motor). 2 minute motor run max, 10 minute total flight. Motor may be stopped and restarted within the first 2 minutes, but must not be restarted AFTER the 2 minute mark or flight is scored as "0". Exception: if motor is turned on to "save" the model from impending doom, the clock will be stopped and the flight time recorded.

EASY Star Events (April, May, June 06)
Stock Speed 400 motor up to 7 cells (NICD/NIMH) or 2 Li-poly. Stock Easy Star ARF only. Model may be strengthened with glass or wood. Foam parts may be replaced only with OEM foam parts. Event rules will be published on SEFLI Newsboard no later than 1 week before the contest and the newsletter. Typical events are Limited Motor Run (Like SES), Duration, Target Tow, Limbo, racing... and whatever else we come up with.

to be flown at once. Streamer cuts are 25 pts, streamer touches are 10 points. All models involved in Mid-airs that are still in the air at 4 minute mark receive 50 pts. 2-3 rounds will be flown... winner is max pts total all three rounds.

SEFLI Sport Scale rules.

Model: Model must be a replica of a man carrying aircraft that has been documented to have flown at least once! Any size model may enter as long as it is radio controlled and powered by an electric motor(s). ARF's and RTF's may be entered but an appropriate downgrade in static points. Builder (or assembler in the case of ARF/RTF's) of the model rule will apply. Modeler should provide some documentation to the verify the shape and color of the aircraft. Unpainted plastic models and model cover box-art is acceptable as well as color pictures or B+W pictures with a worded description of the colors used. Paper documentation can be obtained from hardcopy books or the Internet as long as references are given.

Static Judging: The model will be judged for shape/color/craftsmanship from 15 ft away. The modeler or designee (other than a judge) will display the model for the judges to represent, side, top and front views. Points will be awarded in the following areas:

Fidelity to scale: 40 points max, x 1.0 if documentation provided, x .5 if no documentation provided. Color and markings: 20 points max, x 1.0 if documentation provided, x .5 if no documentation provided.

Craftsmanship: 40 points max (x 1.0 if built from modelers own plans, x .95 if built from published plans, x .8 if built from kit, x .25 if assembled from ARF or RTF.)

Flying: The modeler will be judged on 7 aspects of the flight. 5 of which are (almost) mandatory, 2 will be optional. The mandatory "maneuvers" or flight scores are: Take-off, Procedure Turn, Fly-past, realism of flight, and landing. The two optional maneuvers can be any maneuver that the full scale aircraft was capable of performing such as loops, rolls, spins, none of which can be repeated. If the model is to be hand-launched and belly landed, the modeler may choose to elect two other maneuvers to substitute for these parts of the flight without degradation in flight realism.
